Sanuk has been around since July of ’97, when Jeff Kelly started making sandals out of inner tubes and indoor-outdoor carpet. Today, Sanuk continues making footwear that is as much about funk as it is about function. Their goal is to provide creatively inspired yet thoughtfully designed products for the global outdoor community. Sanuk is the Thai word for “fun”, so it’s not just a name, it’s their mantra.

When Rab Carrington started a small company in 1981, he was relying on extensive experience gained on bold, lightweight first ascents to design and manufacture down clothing and sleeping bags of the highest quality. This equipment had to meet the needs of a new breed of lightweight alpinist using techniques pioneered by Rab himself.

To this day that ethos continues. The range of product has expanded dramatically but the core values of quality and performance live on.
